ISNA: A Family Divided - 52nd Annual Convention, 2015

Marc Manley, Jihad Turk, Namira Islam, Hazel Gomez

Across the country families are fraught with intercultural tensions. This panel will look at divides between new immigrants and their second-generation children, as well as converts and their issues with their families. A panel of counselors, therapists, and imams discuss today’s challenges by considering how the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) managed similar tensions among his companions with an aim to help our community bridge racial, spiritual, and cultural rifts in Muslim families.
