CAIR Leadership and Policy Conference: Organizing the American-Muslim Community & the 2018 Midterms
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) leadership and policy conference consists of a series of panels on how the Muslim community can engage with the public and policymakers on challenges they and other marginalized people face. Members of this third panel focus on the upcoming 2018 midterm elections and how people should educate themselves about the candidates and then go vote.
In this panel, we hear from Imam Omar Suleiman (Founder and President at the Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research), Azza Altiraifi (Disability Justice Advocate), Namira Islam (Executive Director at the Muslim ARC), and Yasmine Taeb (Senior Policy Counsel at the Center for Victims of Torture).
This discussion aired on C-Span on October 20, 2018. This CAIR Conference took place at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, Virginia.
